Julie works as a fine artist primarily in oils, watercolour and mixed media. She trained at Sunderland and then the University of Northumbria and has completed many large scale public murals and site-specific installations, for example at Booth Hall Hospital in Manchester and the Royal Victoria Hospital in Newcastle. She has also run many art workshops at schools and colleges across the North West, most recently in Calderdale, and formulated an educational scheme at Artsmill in Hebden Bridge (where she was a director from 2005-6) which developed outreach workshops, courses and resources for the local community. She lives, works and paints in Todmorden, West Yorkshire.
